Cognition Method Guides Hub
Tutorials for the demo, gravity rooms, and the story that waits inside the Artifact.
This hub is the map for every Cognition Method tutorial on the wiki. The game is still upcoming on Steam — Team Cognition locked 1 September 2026 as the PC date — so the guides lean on what you can play today: two free demos, official trailers, and the studio’s own first-hour footage. Use the links below instead of hunting scattered forum posts.
Start here if you have not launched anything yet
The getting started guide covers wishlist, demo install, first-hour goals, and how the full game’s premise (William Mortwood, Mars, 2085) differs from older teaser copy. Pair it with controls so mouse look, interaction, the Tab objective reminder from the 2024 public demo, and controller support are not a surprise when a gravity well dumps you onto a ceiling.
Mechanic pages (how the world actually works)
Cognition Method is not a gun game and it is not a Roblox tycoon. Progress comes from changing which way is down, stacking cubes, reading terminals, and noticing architecture that was designed as a puzzle first. The gravity puzzles guide is the long read: wells, walkable faces, pressure plates, and the “look from another angle” rule the Steam page repeats for a reason.
If a specific Initiation room is blocking you — mirrored sphere on stairs, cube-and-pit, statue pointing, walk-to-the-light — open the demo walkthrough. It is written as a hint-first path, then a firmer solution, so you can stay inside the mood instead of alt-tabbing to a silent video every thirty seconds.
Optional depth: secrets, story, photo mode, preview
Initiation ships eight achievements, including hidden rooms and a “master” clear in one attempt. Secrets and achievements lists those without turning the full game into a spoiler dump. Story and lore separates confirmed full-game facts (the Artifact, the vanished crew, the son) from older demo names such as Martin and the Tanmi spacecraft.
Photographers should skip to photo mode. The studio added a free-fly camera for neo-brutalist shots inspired by Tadao Ando and ran a 2026 contest for credit mentions. If you want a spoiler-light opinion before buying, read the preview built from IGN coverage, the Games Gathering demo, and the official announcement trailer. The soundtrack page is the music desk: Initiation’s official album, how silence works as a clue, and why you should not overlay a combat mix on a gravity well.
How these guides connect
Every page in this hub links to siblings on purpose. Controls without gravity is a key list. Gravity without the demo walkthrough is theory. The walkthrough without secrets misses the keys in the stair room and the lab. Story without the preview context can make 2021 teaser text look like the 2026 plot. Use the cluster; do not stop on one article.
When the full build unlocks, these pages will shift from demo-first to launch-first. Until then they stay honest about what is confirmed on Steam, what only exists in Initiation, and what the studio has not published (exact keyboard binds, the full achievement list, and the precise shape of the multiple endings).

Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions.
Which Cognition Method guide should I open first?
If you have not played, start with getting started. If you are stuck in a demo room, use the demo walkthrough.
Do these guides spoil the full game?
Demo solutions are explicit. Full-game story beats stay behind warnings on story and lore. The 1 September 2026 build is still upcoming, so later chapters are not documented as if they had launched.
